A person is in danger as long as they are in conflict/ Azam Bahrami

The story of the coronavirus began with the story of bat soup and led to pangolins and the consumption of this rare and endangered mammal. But this was not the end of the story, and later in published articles from both credible and non-credible sources, it was linked to a seafood market in Wuhan and a laboratory that was conducting experiments on animal samples to discover new vaccines and medicines. According to the World Health Organization, over 200 diseases with animal origins have been added to the list of human diseases. There are many diseases that can only be transmitted to humans through direct contact with animals, such as rabies. However, the main problem arises when the human body becomes compatible with the disease and can become a carrier. In this way, with our current social lifestyle, it can quickly turn into an epidemic or global pandemic.

We have destroyed all borders for the sake of money.

But far from all this commotion, what the World Wildlife Organization expresses concern about is the all-encompassing human activity that is causing the destruction of wildlife. We are destroying animal habitats from all sides. Only half a billion different species of animals have been lost in the Australian wildfires, and millions of hectares of unique wildlife habitats in Australia have been destroyed.

Shortly before that, the wildfires in tropical forests and forests in North America and parts of Canada in 2019 caused a black and fiery year for forests and wildlife habitats. On the other hand, today, wildlife trade is the most profitable illegal trade in the world after drugs and weapons. The World Environmental Organization believes that on average, wildlife trafficking generates $20 to $30 billion in annual income for the mafia.

Many clothing and food chain companies, as well as their special customers, are still ready for any kind of massacre. From the skin of hedgehogs to the bones of leopards and the fins of sharks. The results of

Domestic animals are silent victims.

Dogs and cats abandoned on the streets were just one of the harms inflicted on domestic animals during the global crisis of COVID-19. Lack of information, unanswered concerns, and irresponsibility of some citizens towards their domestic animals led to a large number of them becoming homeless. Some of them also became infected by being in contact with sick individuals, while many questions remain unanswered about the immune response of domestic animals to the coronavirus.

The World Health Organization has repeatedly stated that there is no evidence that domestic animals can transmit the virus. A veterinary researcher in Italy who is studying the effects of COVID-19 on domestic animals believes that animals like bats have gone through a very long evolutionary process to develop a form of coexistence with viruses. There are many examples of them being the original source of diseases, from Ebola and various types of flu to SARS and now COVID-19.

But they are an important part of the natural cycle and life on this planet. Today, given the critical situation, it is

Animals that returned to their territory

Dolphins in the canals of Venice, fish returning to industrial ports, thousands of turtles returning to the shores of India to lay eggs, the return of deer, monkeys, and birds in different parts of the world, show how the true territory of animals, in our absence, without our machines and boats, without what has encroached upon their habitats and lives, has once again become theirs.

Two important points can be considered in the relationship between us and wildlife during this global pandemic: first, what should amaze the world and its citizens is not the transmission of viruses from animals to humans, or even humans contracting a disease from animals. There have been many examples of different diseases, from various types of influenza to Ebola, SARS, and AIDS, but what should make us think is the weak and ineffective system that many countries have shown in dealing with such crises.

The world fantasizes about traveling and settling on other planets and creates tools, while at the same time it has not
