Book Introduction: Will Climate Change Catch Countries Off Guard? / Morteza Hamounian

Today, the world is in the process of transitioning from the dominance of fossil fuels to alternative energies; energies that can preserve nature and not pollute it. The back cover of the book also states that “the book not only introduces each type of renewable energy – hydro, solar, wind, geothermal, and ocean energy – but also provides an analytical study of their consumption and development trends in previous years, as well as an analysis of their future potential.” These renewable energies can not only contribute to the development of society, but also create employment opportunities.

In recent years, books have been written about renewable energies, but there are few books that have attempted to take a look at all types of renewable energies, from water to solar, wind, and geothermal, and have a chapter on renewable energy from the seas and oceans.

The book “Climate Change and the Evolution of Renewable Energy Sources”.

The text is written by Alireza Vaezi and Ammar Qasemian Azizi. This is the first interdisciplinary book on industry, energy, and climate change written by a member of the scientific faculty of the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration Organization of the country and a polymer engineer with expertise in understanding and analyzing modern industrial systems in the fields of production, energy, and climate change, who have jointly contributed to the field of writing.

This book includes a fundamental introduction to the most important types of renewable energy. The first chapter of the book is dedicated to this topic, although chapters two through six discuss various types of renewable energy. In the first chapter, an attempt is made to provide a new perspective on renewable energy based on the interconnected effects of climate change and industry. This perspective is also maintained in other sections of the book when discussing different types of renewable energy. The author also considers climate change to be one of the most important global security issues and states that it has been recognized as an opportunity for developing new knowledge and environmentally friendly technologies to generate income for countries. It seems that this perspective is also reflected in the book, as it attempts to address the future energy needs of the country in the face of global climate change and the risks it poses by exploring various types of renewable energy. The book takes a deep, statistical, and managerial approach, with a policy-oriented focus on renewable energy issues. It is also known that a portion

Dr. Alireza Vaezi is one of the authors of the book, a visiting professor at Beheshti University, and a graduate of environmental engineering from the University of Tehran. One of the qualities of this book is its usability for students to gain a better and deeper understanding of the renewable energy market. In a mentioned note, Alireza Vaezi emphasizes the importance of studying, managing, and dealing with emerging and unknown climate phenomena due to the rapid warming trend, which is more necessary than ever in today’s world. This book is the first interdisciplinary work in this field. Hopefully, with more publications in this regard, the door to research and more discussions in this field will be opened.
