No sane mind can accept that a prohibited item can be sold at half price, but in Iran, nothing is impossible. Under heavy sanctions, anything is possible, including pre-ordering twenty iPhones at half price with the hope of making double profit, and of course, to prevent the national currency from becoming worthless in the bank account. Kourosh Company is a small but noisy example that shows how a lying, greedy person can always deceive others. The idea of establishing this company also came from this example, as well as the high-flying and taking advantage of the current situation. Two young men who had a mobile repair shop had cleverly found the pulse of the market. Making a lot of profit in a short period of time without any trouble and easily eating bread; it’s easy! The ground is ready and all that was needed was a little investment and convincing advertising, which was also achieved.

Taqi Azad Ermaki, a sociologist and professor at Tehran University, talks about the reason for events such as the fraud of Kourosh Company in the stock market: “I must say that this should not have happened, but unfortunately it did and in fact, people’s money has been lost. But the question that arises is why did this happen? To answer that, we must look at the cause. It is clear that the economic and social system in Iran is based on rent and does not allow companies with a global identity that operate according to rules and laws to have representation in Iran. For this reason, the relationship between Iran and the global community and economy must be regulated. Because when this does not exist, a group of profiteers and rent-seekers emerge from within the political system and take away people’s wealth.”

With this order, the company “Kourosh Pardazan Aye Sai” which was established under the trade name “Kourosh Company” in 99 for repair and after-sales services of mobile phones, had not even reached 10 months when it decided to sell iPhones; and not just any iPhones, but the 13 models that were also registered and were being sold in the market at exorbitant prices thanks to the emotional law of some individuals in the parliament. The interesting thing is that it all started from here; they had done something that people were willing to deposit their money in the company’s account for up to 45 working days in order to receive their desired product, and then they could pick up their phones. But this was only possible through extensive advertising on filtered social media and of course the presence of celebrities and actors who had received the phone and reassured people to trust them. It seems that celebrities have also fallen for appearances and the expectation that we should expect famous people who advertise and recommend for companies to have high intelligence and IQ is misplaced. It appears that these individuals have either returned or are expected to return the money they received for advertising, in cases of fraud from this company that has always existed and has increased in recent years due to the economic situation of the country, it is necessary to investigate and address the root causes rather than focusing on the scandals; although as long as the economic situation remains the same, we should expect more games from the company. In the past, they also put this burden on depositors and it became the same as we all know and in the end, they returned the people’s money from the treasury. This has always been a way to cover up possible corruption by the government. Like the case of the Dubash tea, which for now, the decision has been made to remain silent about it. In this regard, Azad Ermaki says: “Unfortunately, the issue that has arisen in Iran is that we are producing a product that is better than foreign goods and samples, but does not have currency value, while this issue leads to events such as some mobile phone companies and so on, and we must also know that the issue of this mobile phone company and its victims has nothing to do with famous figures, and on the contrary, it has fundamental problems. Because it must be clarified who has given permission to such a company and why people and famous figures should be accused?” This sociologist continued: “When these victims are on the street, security forces start arresting them and if they protest, they are prosecuted. There was no logical reasoning behind this decision and if they truly wanted to retaliate against the US sanctions, there were more effective measures they could have taken; such as banning the travel and education of government officials’ children in America! In this story, the flaw in the laws has also been aided by fraudsters. ISNA, citing a lawyer, wrote, “Assuming that this person was arrested and returned through Interpol, it is not beneficial, as these individuals usually do not leave any financial assets behind. The punishment for this person is up to 10 years in prison. When they no longer have any assets, the victims are left with nothing.” This is while, according to the police, at least 5,000 people have filed complaints against the owner of this company, with a total of 200 billion tomans, and it is said that 230,000 tomans have been collected for registering each complaint in cities other than Tehran (do the math). What has been overlooked and not paid attention to is the investigation of the platforms that lead to such unfortunate events, and the legislator or the government responsible for providing useful bills to minimize these abuses are not present in the entire process and only show up

The result is that Kourosh Company is a product of sanctions and self-sanctions that arise from the inefficiency of some laws and possible burdens, and as long as this process continues, we must also witness its repetition with different names and methods. Although there may be no connection to the subject, providing suitable grounds for provocation and temptation in this group should not be ignored. The government paid for the entry and losses of depositors from the public budget in the matter of interest-free loans, but we never see serious government involvement in such incidents. Perhaps if it had also been present in this clause, we would have witnessed their serious presence.
