Environmental rights and its philosophical foundations have originated from the principles of human rights and natural rights. The most fundamental natural right of humans on this planet is the “right to life”. The environment on Earth is also the habitat of human life. This beautiful blue planet has been hosting various forms of life, in the form of plant and animal species, for hundreds of millions of years. And the human species has a history of living on this planet for about three to four million years.

Despite the tremendous progress in knowledge and technology, modern humans have put the environment on Earth at serious risk. The production of waste by humans is increasing day by day, and with the advancement of knowledge and technology, more hazardous waste is being produced and most of it is being released into nature.
