The new coronavirus has less danger than the first type of influenza (H1N1 or swine flu). This statement was made by Saeed Namaki, the Minister of Health of Iran, on February 3, 2020 (1398) regarding concerns about the widespread spread of the coronavirus in Iran. Whether true or false, this assumption has been proven completely wrong with the death of 4,110 people from the coronavirus in Iran as of the writing of this article. This comparison was also made while the total number of deaths due to swine flu in Iran since its global outbreak in 2009 until the end of last year (1398) has not exceeded 100 annually, and this disease has never turned into an epidemic in Iran.
