Dr. Saeed Madani, a sociologist and senior researcher in social sciences, is currently imprisoned in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj. He has translated the book “Social Movements: Genesis, Upsurge, and Decline” written by Jeff Goodwin and James Jasper, two professors of sociology at New York University, into Farsi while in prison.

In the introduction of the 60-page book, which makes up about half of its volume and can be considered as a separate book on its own, Saeed Madani examines the historical evolution of perspectives on social movements. In this introduction, he attempts to summarize the activities and studies surrounding social movements and the efforts towards achieving justice and freedom.
