The Peace Line Monthly – Mohammad Ali Taheri, who has been in detention since 14 Ordibehesht of the year 1390 (May 2011) and recently, after the violation of his first death sentence in the Supreme Court, has been again sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court on charges of “spreading corruption on earth”. He is the founder of an institution called “Erfan Halgheh” which has a large number of supporters and followers in Iran.

However, Taheri is not the only victim of human rights violations in relation to the Erfan Halqeh institute. Since 2010, after the illegal declaration of this institution and all its activities, and with the escalation of pressures and security confrontations with this ideology, hundreds of citizens have also been pressured, pursued, and detained in this regard. The trials held in revolutionary courts have resulted in many of them being sentenced to imprisonment.

One of the statistics, publications, and works of the human rights activists in Iran, at the request of the monthly magazine “Peace Line”, has prepared a list of names of those detained in relation to the Erfan Circle. This list does not include those who have been summoned, refugees, individuals under pursuit, and those whose detention has never been reflected by human rights organizations or mass media.

The documented names of 208 citizens who have been arrested in relation to the activities of the Sufi group “Erfan Halqeh” from 1389 (2010) until now, in alphabetical order, are as follows:

It is necessary to clarify that the name of Mr. Taheri’s niece, wife, and brother are also among the detainees in this list. Additionally, from 2014 to 2017 (present), a total of 82 members or followers of the Sufi circle were arrested in various cities of the country in 9 security operations. The media close to the security forces have reported these cases without mentioning the names of the detainees. Therefore, the identity and fate of these individuals are not accompanied by sufficient details.

According to the statistics, publications, and works of the human rights activists in Iran, regardless of the fact that some individuals have multiple cases, out of the total legal status of 208 defendants, verdicts have been issued for 31 individuals so far. However, the majority of the 208 individuals mentioned in this report have an unknown status and are actually awaiting trial.

For 31 cases of those interested in Sufism circle that have resulted in a verdict, a total of 34 years and 4 months of imprisonment, 18 years of suspended imprisonment, 74 lashes of physical punishment, 480 lashes of suspended punishment, in addition to a fine of 5 million and 500 thousand tomans and a large number of rejected verdicts have been issued.
