Unemployment and cheap labor are the result of half a century of incorrect economic policies in Iran/Kiumars Amiri.

Economy in the world, whatever definition it may have, in these long years, has no symbol or manifestation in the Islamic Republic of Iran. It has been almost half a century that there is no place for a dynamic, real and scientific economy to be defined in this land.
In the absence of a proper economic plan, what exists is a chaotic and unpredictable mess at various levels of society, which some refer to as a rent-based economy, a corrupt economy, or an underground economy. This sick, complicated and inefficient economy has turned unemployment in this country into a growing and unsolvable crisis, dragging society into decline and darkness.
The problem of unemployment in today’s Iranian society, like a cancerous tumor, has affected all aspects of life, especially the fate of the youth, and has made them unable to even lead a simple life. The overall order and system of society have been challenged and are facing a serious threat.

Injustice in employment

Despite the lack of a dynamic economy and constant political, economic, and social turmoil in the country during these years, not only have there been no centers or factories to attract ready-to-work forces in the country, but also many job centers and factories, both large and small, have closed down and their workers have joined the ranks of the unemployed. Unfortunately, there is no proper system or justice in place for attracting even the small number of workers that are occasionally available, and this small number is usually given to the families of martyrs and veterans, leaving the majority of the population deprived and without a share.

Furthermore, those who have managed to find jobs through connections or by paying bribes, often end up facing numerous problems such as low wages and unsafe working conditions. This is due to the issues created by labor laws. In recent years, labor and social laws have increasingly favored employers, and changes have been made to the detriment of workers, leading to more turmoil. Changes such as making it optional
